National B&B week
Looking for a hotel or bed and breakfast?
When planning a break away there are lots of options to choose from. Over the past few years lots of hotel chains have become more visible. The choices range from luxury properties to budget chains. For the chain hotels a plus can be that you know what you are getting before you get there.
There is an alternative – a Bed and Breakfast. During the late March each year we celebrate National B&B week so it’s a good time to give a shout out to some of the delights of independent accommodation providers.
What makes a bed and breakfast different from a hotel?
Bed and Breakfasts come in all shapes and sizes and this is one of their great attractions. Each one offers something unique. A common factor though is they are run by the people who own them, people who care about what they offer and want to ensure their guests have a great experience.
Why book Glendon?
Caring about our guests at Glendon is exactly what we are about – offering excellent hospitality and wanting each and every guest to enjoy their stay with us. To do this we think carefully about what we offer, and this is informed by talking to our guests.
So, what does this mean for our guests? Well, a good night’s sleep and great breakfast are obviously key. For us this means careful thought on the quality of mattresses, high-quality bed linen, local ingredients for breakfast and choices to suit all tastes.
Little touches which make all the difference
In addition, though it is often the little touches that make a difference. At Glendon this includes Elemis toiletries, silent mini-fridge, fresh milk, and ironing facilities in each room. This month we have also added a new range of quality teas and gourmet coffee in each guest room. It is perhaps a small touch, but it all adds to making the experience for our guests that little bit special.
There are also some larger touches too. Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park offer some great cycling opportunities. Therefore, this year we have added a new secure cycle store (including electric supply if anyone fancies hiring an e-cycle from one of the local suppliers. And our latest project, which is due to complete soon is the addition of an electric car charging station. These facilities, as well as being great for our guests, also help to make a positive environmental contribution.
Our reviews speak for themselves
And perhaps the most important measure of this is what our guests say about their stay at Glendon? Superb; friendly great service; the perfect stay; the best; top notch bed and breakfast; great attention to detail and; a wee gem in the heart of Derbyshire – offer a glimpse of the feedback we have received. Read further guest reviews from Google as well as those left on our website.
