Welcome to the award-winning Glendon Bed and Breakfast in Matlock, a classic family-owned bed and breakfast accommodation with unique personal touches. We provide free parking in our own car park for guests as well as EV charging. Glendon is centrally located within the beautiful market town of Matlock, Derbyshire, and within easy walking distance to the bus and train station, pubs, shops and restaurants.  Additionally, we are unique in offering our guests a sitting room and a secure cycle store. Choose from a large selection of breakfasts, cooked fresh-to-order, wholesome, delicious and locally sourced, catering for most dietary requirements.

Each guest bedroom is individual and beautifully decorated with en-suite bathrooms. Relax in our large guest sitting room and elegant dining room, both with views over Knowleston Gardens with the River Derwent just beyond.

We are ideally placed for exploring the Peak District and a just a short drive from Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Alton Towers, with the Heights of Abraham & Gulliver’s Kingdom under 3 miles away.

When you arrive at our door you enter a large Victorian Villa, built in 1857, with a host of original features combined with the elegance of modern life and design, not to mention our electric vehicle charge point and free parking. Glendon is an ideal bed and breakfast for a couple, groups and single travellers visiting Derbyshire and the Peak District.

Glendon is the perfect place to stay for walkers, cyclists, photographers, and those who enjoy stunning scenery and visiting historic houses. The house offers a relaxed and peaceful setting.

Our individually decorated bedrooms are situated over the first and second floors. Each room is bright and airy, with high ceilings and large sash windows. The bedrooms are designed using soft furnishings in a contemporary style and combine modern conveniences to ensure a comfortable stay. The premiere room has a bath, with a fitted shower above. Each of the other rooms has a large shower.

Glendon is nestled in the centre of Matlock, overlooking a brook feeding into the river Derwent, next to Hall Leys Park. Our individually styled en-suite bedrooms provide a restful ambience and exceptional standard of accommodation and service. Our aim is for every guest to really enjoy their stay, making the most of their time visiting Derbyshire. We welcome guests arriving on their first day between 4 – 5.30 pm with tea and a home-baked treat.
