We are ideally placed for exploring the Peak District and a just a short drive from Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Alton Towers, with the Heights of Abraham & Gulliver’s Kingdom under 3 miles away.

An elegant Victorian villa
When you arrive at our door you enter a large Victorian Villa, built in 1857, with a host of original features combined with the elegance of modern life and design, not to mention our electric vehicle charge point and free parking. Glendon is an ideal bed and breakfast for a couple, groups and single travellers visiting Derbyshire and the Peak District.
Glendon is the perfect place to stay for walkers, cyclists, photographers, and those who enjoy stunning scenery and visiting historic houses. The house offers a relaxed and peaceful setting.
Our individually decorated bedrooms are situated over the first and second floors. Each room is bright and airy, with high ceilings and large sash windows. The bedrooms are designed using soft furnishings in a contemporary style and combine modern conveniences to ensure a comfortable stay. The premiere room has a bath, with a fitted shower above. Each of the other rooms has a large shower.

Glendon is nestled in the centre of Matlock, overlooking a brook feeding into the river Derwent, next to Hall Leys Park. Our individually styled en-suite bedrooms provide a restful ambience and exceptional standard of accommodation and service. Breakfast is served in the traditional Victorian dining room with all menu items cooked and served to order.
