Welcome to the award-winning Glendon Bed and Breakfast in Matlock, classic bed and breakfast accommodation, with free parking and easy walking distance to the centre of the beautiful market town of Matlock, Derbyshire. Additionally, we offer a unique guest sitting room and secure cycle store. At Glendon Bed and Breakfast choose from a large choice of breakfasts, cooked fresh-to-order, our breakfasts are wholesome, delicious and locally sourced, catering for most dietary requirements.
Each guest bedroom is individual and beautifully decorated with en-suite bathrooms. Relax in our large guest sitting room and elegant dining room, both with views over Knowleston Gardens.
An elegant Victorian villa
When you arrive at our door you enter a large Victorian Villa, built in 1857, with a host of original features combined with the elegance of modern life and design, not to mention our electric vehicle charge point and free parking. Glendon is an ideal bed and breakfast for a couple, groups and single travellers visiting Derbyshire and the Peak District.
Glendon is the perfect place to stay for walkers, cyclists, photographers, and those who enjoy stunning scenery and visiting historic houses. The house offers a relaxed and peaceful setting.
Our individually decorated bedrooms are situated over the first and second floors. Each room is bright and airy, with high ceilings and large sash windows. The bedrooms are designed using soft furnishings in a contemporary style and combine modern conveniences to ensure a comfortable stay. The premiere room has a bath, with a fitted shower above. Each of the other rooms has a large shower.
In the centre of Matlock
Glendon is nestled in the centre of Matlock, overlooking a brook feeding into the river Derwent, next to Hall Leys Park. Our individually styled en-suite bedrooms provide a restful ambience and exceptional standard of accommodation and service. Breakfast is served in the traditional Victorian dining room with all menu items cooked and served to order. Glendon is ideally placed for walking and exploring the Peak district if you are visiting for leisure and offers a personal, restful base for those visiting for business. The house is located a short walk from Matlock train station with direct trains to Derby and Nottingham.

Now we have to declare a bias but we want to pitch for Derbyshire and the Peak District. With its central location in England and the oldest National park in the UK, it has a lot to offer.
Being outdoors and surrounded by such great scenery is one of the joys of living in Derbyshire. As restrictions relaxed one of the best things we have discovered is to get up amongst the clouds. In a different way than taking a flight!
The welcome sight of the bright abundance of tulips and the sight of lambs in fields signals that winter is over and we can start to enjoy the great outdoors.
